Based on 396 reviewsReviews for The Rustic Crust highlight its inviting atmosphere, combining a family-friendly environment with live music and outdoor seating that enhances the dining experience. The wood-fired pizzas receive consistent praise for their authentic, flavorful crusts that balance crunchiness with fluffiness. Customers appreciate the variety of pizza options, including meat lovers, pesto chicken, and unique signature pies, though some note the tomato base could be more robust in flavor. The attentive service and welcoming staff also contribute positively to the overall experience. The Rustic Crust is recognized as a favored local spot ideal for casual dining with family and friends, especially during warmer months.
The crust is delicious. Crunchy and fluffy at the same time. I personally prefer the garlic base over the tomato base, although the flavor can be a bit overwhelming if you eat the whole pizza. The tomato paste is lacking a bit of flavor in my opinion.
Last night had a great time enjoying pizza and live music. Service and atmosphere was also great. The meat lovers pizza was super delicious. Will be back very soon.
Awesome pizza, atmosphere and staff!!!! The rustic crust is our go to pizza spot and has been for a while. The beer garden is awesome family atmosphere. Evenings with live music (the town hero’s ) and outdoor fires pits makes it perfect spot any evening. Indoor dining is great too. The Mikey Shore, Bianco and desert pizzas are our favourites. It’s our kids favourite place to go for dinner.
I have been wanting to try The Rustic Crust for a long time. Tried to go a couple times during the COVID closing/opening sessions but finally got there tonight. Wow! What a great atmosphere. Outside set up is great for the summer weather. Families with kids on picnic tables, chalk for pavement drawings for the young ones..or old ones I suppose. The food and service were great. Food came fast and the service was spot on. I had a Caesar salad, Pepperoni Pizza and the Diablo. The crust was as perfect as I have had in NS. Chatted with a great chew factor. Thin. Great sauce and good quality ingredients. Can’t wait to go back.
The Rustic Crust Tantallon Have been wanting to check this place out for a bit and finally got a chance to give them a try. I love wood fired pizza! I got the Pesto chicken pizza Confit Garlic Sauce, Fior di latte mozzarella, roasted chicken breast, red onion, pesto and D.O.P. Grana padano My son got the meat lovers San Marzano Tomato sauce , fior di latte mozzarella, Genoa salami, fennel sausage , brothers pepperoni and D.O.P parmesan We did do a swap so we could try each other's. I really enjoyed both. My son just thought they were ok, he prefers traditional pizza. Even though some of the edges were burnt, it didn't have that real burnt taste to it that lasts. Tables were nicely spread out, the also have an area for dogs.i bet the place looks great at night with all the lights on. Food came pretty quick, not a long wait and there was a big party happening at one of the other tables. The girls that work there were great. I would definitely go back. My only extra comment is that there is a bathroom inside, but there was flour on the floor so it could get slippery if you're having a few drinks and not being careful. (This also could have just happened and they didn't get the chance for clean up)
After multiple recommendations for this place, I finally checked it out. I grabbed the Italian station and the Mickey Shore. Wow they were both amazing. Very hard to pick my fav but Mickey Shore was a style I've never had before. This is a wood-fired Italian-style Neopolitan pizza with a Nova Scotian twist. They even have a beer garden for May October. They serve local craft beer, wine, and spirits with local entertainment on the weekends.
Went on an impromptu date here with my lovely lady. Friday night, craving some pizza after a long week. We were greeted by a friendly, young, energetic staff, who were very helpful in making sure we had a place to sit down and enjoy. We proceeded to start with a wonderful Caesar salad, one salad was more than enough for 2 (AMAZING VALUE ALERT!! ) wine list was simple but elegant… And then the pizza came… and oh man were we ever happy! We ordered the Mikey shore 3.0 and the rustic works… Both absolutely delicious. We were given a rundown of the kitchen and ingredients by one of the staff, awesome to have such authentic flavours so close to home in a little cosy dining area. Will 1000% be back!
First time visit my wife and I really enjoyed it. Chilly evening but we still sat outside to enjoy the music from classic vinyl. Had 2 pizzas the tomato based Diablo and the garlic based Mikey Shore. Both were great but the garlic one stole the show. Good music from the poor guys freezing. Fun service from Brooke. Great pizza. Good prices. Other than running out of the 2 best IPA beers it was still a 5 star experience. Will be back.
